Track Engineering

Geometry and layout standards for the mainline.

 Geometry

  • Spacing: Tracks must have 3 blocks space between outer edges for normal speed layouts; 2 blocks is acceptable for medium speed areas.
  • S-Bends: 2 chunks for medium speed, or 3 chunks for normal speed tracks.
  • 90° Curves: Should be over an area of 48x48 blocks for medium speed and 64x64 blocks for normal speed.
  • 45° Curves: Half the recommendation of 90° curves.

📐 Grade & Direction

  • Slopes: Must not be steeper than 2 block raise over 16 blocks distance.
  • Switches: Aim for 16 blocks between a switch and a curve (not strictly required).
  • Driving Side: Tracks and signals must be designed for right-hand drive.
